Garreth was born in Essex in the United Kingdom. At the age of 5 he joined his sister at the A&M Dance School in Braintree, he found out he liked it and there was no stopping him! Due to the help and dedication of Alf & Mavis Holmes, Jaqueline Dugdale and Rachel Wise, by the time Garreth was 14 he was a finalist in the IDTA Nationwide competition in Blackpool in Latin American, Ballroom, Modern Sequence and Old Time.
At the age of 18 Garreth was competing in ‘open’ competitions at Amateur level, dancing all over the country as well as giving demonstrations. Along with his existing teachers in Braintree, Garreth received coaching from former 10 Dance Champions, Mark & Jane Shutlar ( and former professional Latin Champions Goran & Nicola Nordin ( Working with these trainers, Garreth and his dance partner Liesa Fallowfield made the last 24 couples at the closed British Championships at the Empress Ballroom in Blackpool.
After moving to Holland in 2003, Garreth took a break from dancing for a few years, and then teamed up with Marie-Louise in the beginning of 2008 ready to dance again!
