Marie-Louise started dancing at the age of 5 in Limburg, the south of the Netherlands, where she was born. At the time, she did classical ballet. She kept on doing this until she was 18. When she turned 14, Marie-Louise also did Jazz-ballet and took dancing lessons at the dancing school of Joop & Elly Bronmeijer in Woerden, where she lived from the age of 7.
Once infected with the virus of Ballroom and Latin American dancing, she never stopped. Marie-Louise reached the Champion Class Latin and Second Class Ballroom at the NDO with her first dancing partner in 2001. With her second dancing partner she went to Julie Fryer for lessons. Marie-Louise got vice-champion at the NK Latin NDO and started doing Latin competitions at the NADB in 2003. In 2005 and 2006, Marie-Louise entered several international Latin competitions with her third dancing partner.
Garreth and Marie-Louise have been dancing together socially for over a year, but decided to really go for the competitive dancing in January 2008. Marie-Louise is thrilled that she is competing in both Ballroom and Latin competitions with Garreth!
